A piano tuner has decided to step into the world of violin making. Looking back 15 years ago, taking my child to visit a violin teacher for the first time was my initial encounter with violins. While watching my children grow up, I worked as a piano tuner and was responsible for piano accompaniment during their violin practice sessions. I never imagined that I would get involved with playing the violin myself.
However, as I continued my work with pianos, I began to wonder if violins might offer experiences that couldn’t be found with pianos. Eventually, I started recommending violins to people around me, which led me to begin practicing so I could play myself. Then, realizing I needed to know how to maintain instruments for those I had recommended violins to, I began researching repairs. Finally, I reached the conclusion that I needed to try making violins myself, and now I’m preparing to begin violin making.
I know it will be a long journey, but I’m ready to give it my all and see what happens. Thank you for your support.
ピアノ調律師がバイオリン製作の世界に足を踏み入れる決意をしました。思えば15年前、子どもと初めてバイオリンの先生を訪ねたのがバイオリンに触れる最初のきっかけとなりました。子どもたちの成長を横目にピアノ調律師として活動し、子どものバイオリン練習のピアノ伴奏が担当で、まさか自分がバイオリン演奏に手を出すなんて考えてもいませんでした。
しかしピアノの仕事を続けていくにつれ、ひょっとしてバイオリンにはピアノでは経験できない良さがあるのでは、と考えるようになり、ついには周りの人たちにバイオリンをすすめるようになり、そうなれば自分が弾けなくてはと練習を始め、進めた人のために手入れもできるようにならなければと修理について調べるようになり、やっぱり自分で作ってみなければ始まらないという結論に至り、バイオリンの製作を始めるべく準備を進めています。
長い道のりになることは承知で、当たって砕けてみるつもりです。
