I have done over 30 times of bow rehair and finally getting comfortable with my work. I don’t get paid for this but thinking to approach to the violinists that I know.
It takes time to rehair a bow. Piano tuning is much easier for me. I saw a YouTube video that an experienced technician completed a rehair in very short time that is definitely impossible for me at this point. But it was the same when I started piano tuning. It took hours to tune a piano now I finish it within an hour. There are some unwanted motions that unnecessarily consume time. I shouldn’t rush in, but I’m sure I will be finding them as I gain my experience and reduce working time.
it’s visible a small bundle of the hair is a little twisting. I need to prevent that kind of error. A lot to do. It’s fun.
